ATHLETICS WEEKLY REPORT

 

WEEK OF 10/27/22 – 11/5/22

HS Football 

The Sinton Pirates had an Open Date last week. We are sitting at 2-0 in District with the second win versus Orange Grove 43-6 on October 14. The Pirates are continuing to get better every week with the focus on "US". If the Pirates take care of business versus West Oso and Ingleside defeats Orange Grove tonight, the last game of the regular season will be a District Championship showdown between the Pirates and the Mustangs. 

 

MS Football

Tuesday, October 25

The 7th Marauders defeated Orange Grove 22-16. The 8th Marauders lost to Orange Grove 12-27. Both teams stand with a record of 6-2 and conclude their seasons next week against District rivalry Ingleside.

 

HS Football

Thursday, October 27

The JV White defeated Flour Bluff 22-7 and the JV Maroon defeated West Oso 59-0. JV White now stands at 7-2 and JV maroon stands at 8-1. Next week will conclude their seasons versus Ingleside as well.

 

HS Volleyball
The Sinton Lady Pirates wrapped up their regular season with their district finale versus Ingleside at home on Tuesday, October 25th.  It was also Senior/Parent Night for the Lady Pirates.  Senior managers Krystal Ash and Shania Rodriguez and senior volleyball players Sydney Mutchler and Lindsey Puente were honored, as well as all varsity parents and athletes. The Lady Pirates swept the visiting Lady Mustangs 25-16, 25-17, 25-22.  Macey Hill led the team with 9 kills, while Kaylen Serrano directed the offense with 16 assists.  The Lady Pirates also served effectively, collecting 8 total team aces.  The JV squad won in 2 straight sets and the Freshman Lady Pirates dropped their match in 2 sets to end their sub-varsity season.  Next up for the Lady Pirates will be the Bi-District Round of the playoffs.

HS Cross Country
The Pirate XC team made history on Monday, October 24th, finishing third at the Region IV-4A Cross Country Meet at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to earn a berth in the State Cross Country Meet in Round Rock on Friday, November 4th.  Senior Zerah Martinez was the individual Regional Champion with a time of 11:25.  Izabella Ohler was the next top finisher in 26th place. On the boys side, senior Justin Ramirez will also be returning to the State Cross Country Meet, after a 10th place individual finish.  Ramirez also competed at the state meet as a junior.

MS Volleyball
The Lady Marauder volleyball teams finished their 2022 season with a trip to Gregory-Portland for a non-district matchup.  The 8th Grade A team concluded their stellar season with a 2 set victory over the Lady Cats.  The 7A, 8B and 7B teams all fell in 2 close sets.  Next up for the Lady Marauders, basketball season.
